Well, how do you feel?
We ask this of loved ones who are recovering from illness or of a friend who has expressed anxiety over an interview. We ask it of others.
When we ourselves are asked, how do we respond?
‘Grand.’ ‘Not too bad.’ ‘Tired.’ ‘Nervous.’ ‘Fed up.’
There are as many answers as there are people.
But, I don’t think we’re really answering the question. And we’re not really answering the question because we don’t know how we feel.
We do so many things in our lives so we don’t have to feel.
We eat too much. We drink too much. We use social media too much. We watch TV too much. We do all of this so we don’t have to feel.
So, HOW do you feel?
Do you feel consciously? Are you aware of what has brought about your feelings – good or bad? Can you influence how you feel?
Our thoughts create our feelings so we need to give our feelings some thought.
